Fabienne Lasserre grew up in Montreal, Canada, and lives and works in Brooklyn, NY. Her recent solo shows include “The Us and the It” (2012), at Gallery Diet, Miami, and “For the Partner” (2011) at Jeff Bailey Gallery, NY. An upcoming solo show at Jeff Bailey Gallery in New York will open on October 11, 2013. Lasserre has participated in numerous group exhibitions throughout the United States and internationally, amongst these, “Outside the Lines” (2013), Contemporary Arts Museum Houston, TX; “Saber Desconocer”, Museo de Antioquia, Medellin, Colombia; “Cheat Chains and Telephone” (2012), Kansas Gallery, NY; “La Triennale québecoise” (2011), Musée d’art contemporain de Montréal; “Come Through” (2010), Sikkema Jenkins & Co., NY , “Foreign Object” (2010), Regina Rex, NY, and “Hace Mucho que No Te Veo” (2010), a two-person show with Christy Gast at Espacio Matacuna 100, Santiago, Chile. In 2011, she completed a residency at La Curtiduria, Oaxaca, Mexico and participated in Essay N1, an artist residency organized by Camila Marambio, in Tierra del Fuego, Chile.. She is currently participating in the Workspace Program at Dieu Donné Papermill, NY. This year, she was the recipient of a Project Grant for Visual Artists from the Canada Council for the Arts.
